Turkish Tiles Painting Workshop
Turkish tiles have decorated palaces, mosques, and homes for over 500 years. In this workshop, you get to make one yourself.
What you'll experience
You arrive at Betul's studio in Sultanahmet, a warm, creative space with a rooftop terrace over Istanbul's historic skyline. Betul and her family welcome you like a guest in their home, not a customer in a workshop. The session starts with a short introduction to the art and history of Turkish tile making, one of the best-known crafts of the Ottoman era. Then you get started: you choose from a set of traditional Turkish patterns, learn how to transfer your design onto a real ceramic tile, and paint it using ceramic paints with Betul's guidance at every step. Once you are done, your tile is glazed and fired in a kiln, ready to collect or ship within 7 to 10 days. No experience needed, just curiosity and a love for beautiful things.

Learn the traditional way of transferring your chosen design onto a real ceramic tile, the same method Turkish tile artists have used for centuries.
Paint Your Tile
